Title of Speech: Energy Harvesting Sensors for Autonomous Manufacturing

Abstract: The presence of billions of such small pervasive computing internet of things/devices (IoTs) provides their sixth-sense intelligence (which is nothing more than just information) embedded into the real world environment and enable us to address crucial problems ranging from urban built environment condition, renewable energy inter-states grid connection, efficiency of industries’ operations to name a few. The key value of these IoTs is so highly dependent on the amount of battery energy available for them to last for days or months or years. The keynote is to share on the Energy harvesting (EH) IoT sensors, a highly sophisticated scavenging energy technology, that allow the IoTs to recover energy from the ambient energy sources to recharge its onboard storage batteries to (1) operate for longer lifetime, (2) be made into very small in size and (3) reduce the dollars in owning and maintaining them.
